Molen's Halloween Candy Buy-Back Program Returns

It’s that time of year again, when goblins, ghosts and ghouls take to the streets toting their buckets and pillowcases door-to-door, filling them with heaps of candy. There will be bobbing for apples, carving jack-o-lanterns and of course the candy buyback event at Molen Orthodontics to help make this Halloween safe and healthy for children of all ages.

Join us on Tuesday, November 1, at Molen Orthodontics in Auburn, Sumner and Enumclaw where kids can sell their spoils for two dollars per pound! The candy will be donated to local charities that make Christmas stockings for the brave men and women serving our country overseas.

Earn money and Molen Moolah!

  • Earn 10 Molen Moolah points for attending
  • Bring in two or more cans of food and earn $1 or 10 Molen Moolah points
  • Donate your unopened candy and receive $2 per pound
  • Come in your Halloween costume and earn $1

The National Retail Federation predicts that Americans will spend a record setting $2.5 billion on Halloween candy this year. With the average cost of Halloween candy at just over $4 dollars a pound, Americans will purchase and distribute a massive 625 million pounds of candy. If you have a hard time imagining what 625 million pounds is, it’s equivalent to nearly six Titanics!

It’s no secret that candy should be consumed in small portions, but that’s easier said than done when you have a three-and-a-half pound vessel of candy at your disposal. The Molen buyback event helps remove some of the temptation. Instead of consuming a share of literally six-shiploads of candy, you can trade those tummy-aches and cavities into cold, hard cash.

And we know it isn’t always easy to part with something as delicious as candy, especially for something as un-tasty as money. So, each location will also have plenty of goodie bags and milk and cookies to sweeten the deal. A photo booth will also be there to snap one last Halloween portrait or a selfie or two.

Don’t forget to RSVP and share this event with your friends and family on Facebook!
